Structural engineer designed and oversaw construction of steel pile retaining wall to retain hillside slippage and residence. After significant slippage damaged retaining wall, engineer designed repairs which promptly failed. Replacement wall designed and installed by Chicago engineering and construction firm.
Pursuing claims that structural engineer failed to properly consider soil and design requirements, resulting in the failure to include tie backs in original design.
